Itinerary

Day 1 Transfer from Hurghada to Luxor / Visit Karnak and Luxor / Cruise overnight

After breakfast at your hotel in Hurghada, El Gouna, or Makadi Bay, your day begins with a private, air-conditioned transfer through the majestic landscapes of Egypt’s Eastern Desert. As you travel toward Luxor, enjoy the ever-changing scenery—from golden dunes to lush Nile-side villages—on a scenic drive that takes approximately 4 hours. This is not just a transfer, but a journey through the heart of Egypt’s natural and cultural contrasts.

Upon arrival in Luxor, you’ll check in to your luxury Nile cruise or hotel before lunch, where a warm welcome and elegant surroundings await. After a delicious onboard lunch, your expert Egyptologist guide will accompany you on an afternoon exploration of Luxor’s most iconic treasures.

Begin at the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex ever built by man. Spanning over 200 acres, Karnak is a monumental tribute to the god Amun-Ra, featuring towering obelisks, colossal statues, and the breathtaking Hypostyle Hall, with

its forest of 134 massive columns. Your guide will bring the site to life with stories of pharaohs, rituals, and architectural marvels that span over 2,000 years of construction.

Next, visit the Luxor Temple, a masterpiece of symmetry and grandeur located in the heart of the modern city. Once connected to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes, this temple was dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship and played a central role in the ancient Opet Festival. As the golden light of late afternoon bathes the temple’s sandstone walls, you’ll walk among statues of Ramses II and marvel at the blend of Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, and Islamic influences.

Return to your cruise or hotel in the early evening for a relaxing dinner and a night of comfort and tranquillity in Luxor.

Day 2 Hot Air Balloon , Kings Valley \ sailing to Edfu \ Nile cruise overnight

After a delightful breakfast on board your luxury Nile cruise, you’ll join your private Egyptologist guide for a journey into the heart of ancient Thebes—the West Bank of Luxor, where Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs were laid to rest.

Begin your exploration at the legendary Valley of the Kings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in the Theban cliffs. Here, you’ll descend into three royal tombs, each adorned with vivid hieroglyphs and sacred scenes that guided the pharaohs through the afterlife. These tombs, carved deep into the limestone, include masterpieces such as those of Ramesses III, Merenptah, and Ramesses IX, offering a glimpse into the spiritual and artistic brilliance of the New Kingdom.

Next, visit the awe-inspiring Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. This architectural marvel, built into the cliffs of the Theban mountains, honors Egypt’s most powerful female pharaoh. With its sweeping terraces, colonnaded halls, and divine symmetry, the temple tells the story of Hatshepsut’s divine birth and reign, blending elegance with political ambition.

On your return, pause at the towering Colossi of Memnon, two 18-meter-high statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have stood guard over the Theban necropolis for more than 3,000 years. These monumental figures once flanked the entrance to a vast mortuary temple and are steeped in myth and legend.

Return to your cruise ship for a gourmet lunch as the vessel begins its serene sail southward. Pass through the Esna Lock, a fascinating engineering marvel, and continue toward Edfu, where you’ll dock for the night. Enjoy a relaxing evening on board, with fine dining and panoramic views of the Nile’s timeless beauty.

Day 3 Visit Edfu and Kom Ombo\ Nile Cruise overnight

After breakfast on board your luxury Nile cruise, your private Egyptologist guide will escort you by horse-drawn carriage to the magnificent Temple of Horus at Edfu—one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt. Built during the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BC, this grand sanctuary is dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god of kingship and protection. As you walk through its towering pylons and into the vast hypostyle hall, you’ll be immersed in vivid reliefs depicting the legendary battle between Horus and Seth. The temple’s inscriptions and sacred drama scenes offer a rare glimpse into ancient Egyptian mythology and ritual life.

After your guided tour, return to the cruise ship and begin your scenic sail toward Kom Ombo, enjoying lunch on board as the Nile’s timeless beauty unfolds around you. Upon arrival, you’ll explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, a rare double temple uniquely dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility and power, and Horus the Elder, a form of the falcon god. The temple’s symmetrical design features twin entrances, sanctuaries, and halls—each side mirroring the other in perfect balance.

Adjacent to the temple, visit the fascinating Crocodile Museum, home to dozens of mummified crocodiles, ancient sarcophagi, and ritual offerings that reveal the deep reverence ancient Egyptians held for Sobek. The museum’s exhibits include crocodile fetuses, eggs, and bronze figurines, offering a rare and eerie insight into the spiritual symbolism of these powerful creatures.

After your visit, return to the ship and continue your journey southward. As the sun sets, you’ll arrive in Aswan, where your cruise will dock for the night. Enjoy a gourmet dinner on board and relax under the stars as the Nile whispers stories of ancient glory.

Day 4 Visit Philae \ the High Dam \ Transfer to Hurghada

After breakfast on board your Nile cruise, your private Egyptologist guide will accompany you on a morning tour of two of Aswan’s most iconic landmarks.

Begin with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel completed in 1970. This colossal structure tamed the mighty Nile and created Lake Nasser, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. From the dam’s panoramic viewpoint, take in sweeping views of the lake and the desert beyond, while your guide shares the story of how this project transformed Egypt’s economy and agriculture.

Next, embark on a short motorboat ride to Philae Temple, a breathtaking island sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Isis. Known as the “Pearl of the Nile,” Philae was relocated stone by stone to Agilkia Island to save it from flooding after the dam’s construction.
